Cross-Current Leaders Training

Cross-Current is an idea.

How would it look for Christian adults to live with Christ-like character in their workplaces.

How would this influence our attitudes towards work, colleagues, integrity, money, ambition, even purpose?

How would it shape and give real strength to our witness at work?

How would it give purpose and meaning to our working lives?

Cross-Current builds on biblical worldview to explore profound ideas that underly our identity in Christ, and the transformative work of the Spirit changing us from the inside out.

Cross-Current is a journey.

We believe that real change takes time as the Holy Spirit ever transforms us from glory into glory remaking us in the image of our God.

Cross-Current comprises six modules and is created to be used with a group that travels together over time in a learning community, allowing time to adopt new ideas in between modules.

We dig deep into the Bible for truth that speaks to our contemporary working lives;
We examine the culture of our own workplaces;
We ask where our own attitudes and behaviour lie;
Together, through peer mentoring we explore how we can define our personal agenda for change;
Together we seek the Lord’s help in becoming the people He intends us to be.

Cross-Current is for you.

Think of the number of young Christian adults we could help. How many in your city? Or in your country? Or in your continent?

How could you help us help them?

Would you, and a couple of friends, be willing to have a go at forming a group?

Could you find 10-15 people in your church, of from your IFES student group, or just among friends, and invite them to explore how Jesus can shape who we are at work, and what we do through work?

Cross-Current is flexible - you can use the material the way that suits you best. A series of evening meetings, two Saturday mornings, a whole Saturday seminar, a weekend away - whatever suits you and your friends best.

Current Leader Training Programmes

Europe

Each November we hold a Europe and Eurasia Cross-Current leaders training event. If you would like to lead or help lead, or even just start praying for a Cross-Current group in your community please join us.
America Latina

In 2024 we will have online training to go over Module 3 again, this is a great session on Honesty/Integrity at work, and gives us a biblical basis to reflect on corruption found at work. In October we will meet in person to work through Module 4 - Generosity.
Philippines

In May 2024 we will be meeting to go through Module 2 of the Cross-Current Curriculum - Getting Love to Work. In the meantime groups across the Philippines are having a go at leading Module 1.
Mexico

We started training Cross-Current leaders from 8 cities in Mexico in 2019, and the programme was interrupted by COVID. In October 2024 we will start again, with a new group of leaders coming together to learn Module 1.
